When a Baby is Born (Hanafi)

The birth of a child is undoubtedly a joyous occasion for the parents and for the rest of the family and friends. Everyone rejoices at the birth of a child. A child is a gift from Allah Ta’aala and an occasion of happiness and joy.

As Muslims, we are most fortunate that Islam, which is a way of life, has guided us in every aspect of our lives, including the occasion when a child is born. The Sunnah has stipulated certain rituals and actions to be carried out on this joyous occasion.

Unfortunately, many people exceed the limits by introducing innovations and customs of others at this time. This is extremely sinful and must be avoided.

Barakah and goodness can only be achieved by adopting the Sunnah. Islam has guided us on this occasion, so why should the customs of others be adopted? Adhere to the Sunnah and achieve Barakah and all types of goodness.

May Allah Ta’aala keep us steadfast on the Sunnah, Aameen.
