Kitaabut Talaaq (Shaafi’ee)
Talaaq (divorce) has become very common nowadays. The reasons for this lamentable condition are many; lack of Islamic knowledge and morals, courting before marriage which removes all Barakah from the marriage, one of the partners has an illicit relationship which has not as yet been severed at the time of marriage, anger, oppressive in-law behaviour, etc.
We thank Allah that He has guided the Ummah in this regard through our beloved Nabi Mohammed Sallallaahu Alayhi wa
Sallam. It is essential that every male and female acquaint themselves with regard to the laws of Nikah and Talaaq before marriage.
Talaaq is an extremely delicate issue and should not be fooled around with. Many a times due to lack of Islamic knowledge,
the husband is unaware and utters Talaaq, not realising that it has taken place. Thus it is imperative that the laws regarding it
are learnt even before marriage.
May Allah Ta’aala grant us Islamic knowledge and the guidance
to practice on it, Aameen.
