Five Advices Given to Sayyidina Abu Hurayrah (Radhiyallaahu Anhu) by Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alayhi wa Sallam)
Sayyidina Abu Hurayrah (Radhiyallaahu Anhu) narrates that Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alayhi wa Sallam) said:
"Who is it that will take these words from me and act upon them or teach them to such a person that will act upon them?"
I replied, “I will do so, O Rasool of Allah.” Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alayhi wa Sallam) held my hand and counted five things:
- Abstain from Haraam. If you abstain from Haraam, then you will be counted amongst the greatest of worshippers.
- Be pleased and happy with those things which Allah has decreed for you, for then you will be counted amongst the wealthy (and independent).
- Be kind to your neighbours, for then you will be a perfect believer.
- Love for others that which you love for yourself. By doing so, you will be a perfect Muslim.
- Abstain from excessive laughter, as excessive laughter causes the heart to die.
