Words of Salaam

One can greet with any one of these three phrases:

• a) Assalaamu Alaykum
• b) Assalaamu Alaykum wa Rahmatullaah
• c) Assalaamu Alaykum wa Rahmatullaahi wa Barakaatuh.

This is established from a Hadeeth of Timidhi, under the Chapter on Salaam.

• * Do not add anything after ‘Barakaatuh’.
• * Do not shorten it by just saying Salaam. The shortest form is Assalaamu Alaykum.
